The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) will host the Joint Technical Symposium (JTS) 2026 from 3 to 4 March 2026 at Arc Cinema in Canberra, situated on Ngunnawal Country.
Organised by the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA) every few years since 1983, JTS is a premier international event that gathers professionals working on the preservation and management of audiovisual collections. The symposium provides a platform to present the latest technical advances, foster collaboration, and prepare the next generation of audiovisual archivists for emerging challenges.
We invite abstract submissions detailing new initiatives, research collaborations or technical innovations – regardless of whether they were ultimately successful or not. Presentations that connect audiences and expand knowledge in audiovisual preservation are particularly welcome.
