The two elders with their spears straightened and smoothed, make holes in the ends with a stone knife for the woomera.

Elders Crook Hat and Camphoo are walking through the bush searching for the right tree to make spears. They tell us that the old people used to cut down the Acacia tree to make spears.

Hunters have killed Chut’s mother and scattered his mob. Desperate for food, Chut arrives at the Henton farm, where Mrs Henton (Ethel Saker) spots him at the gate.

Chut explores his forest world, hopping about madly, as his mother keeps a watchful eye.
