Away from the bustle of the city and the strain of everyday life, the islands of the Great Barrier Reef offer a place for relaxation. In the bushland, birds fill the trees.

Mumble and his Adelie friends have returned to the Emperor colony so that Mumble (Elijah Wood) can try once again to woo Gloria (voiced by Brittany Murphy).

A city family spends a day at a beach; they fish, swim and play in the rock pools. The part played by lifesavers in keeping the beaches safe is also included in the story.
