The Zone was a short-lived, magazine style game review program that was broadcast on Saturday mornings to a youth audience. Its early morning timeslot restricted the type of games that could be reviewed. This meant that the more popular, and often more violent games, such as Mortal Kombat, couldn't be shown. In this clip, the team review the game, Star Trek, based on the popular television and cinema franchise of the same name.
Star Trek 25th Anniversary Enhanced CD-Rom is a sci-fi adventure game based on the Star Trek universe as depicted in the 1960s television show. The original cast, including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley gave their voices to the game. Most of the fighting involves the starship, the USS Enterprise, although the game allowed players to land on planets to solve puzzles, collect items, and interact with alien 'lifeforms'. Which all sounds exciting, however, the reviewer for The Zone, Adam Riley, was clearly unimpressed.
