The NFSA has restored four landmark films by Italian-Australian filmmaker Giorgio Mangiamele – Il Contratto (1953), The Spag (1962), Ninety Nine Per Cent (1963) and Clay (1965).

The new NFSA digital restoration of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom has been selected to screen at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in May 2022.

In 2012, Kylie made a return to the silver screen in the French fantasy drama Holy Motors (2012), directed by Leos Carax.
