Degree of responsiveness of a film to light, which is determined by the relationship between the final density of the developed image and the amount of incidental light energy on the emulsion during exposure.
The value of the sensitivity is dependent upon the wavelength of the exposing light. The change in sensitivity in relation to wavelength is known as spectral sensitivity.
