Usually a camera original image of a series of fine, close lines.
These images are cut into the leaders of a film that is to be copied. The reolution chart will be copied and one would then inspect the copied resolution chart under a microscope. The check, measuring the number of distinguishable separate lines per millimetre, will reveal information about the quality of the optical system used during copying and the film’s emulsion.
The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia acknowledges Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live and gives respect to their Elders both past and present.
