
Symbols used by Kodak to indicate year of manufacture.
All the Kodak year symbols and stock type information will appear in the perforation area as shown in the examples below. When identifying stock information for nitrate film, the symbols to read are those that appear after the word ‘Kodak’ not ‘Nitrate film’, but with acetate film the symbols to read occur after ‘safety film’.
From 1951 onward, all Kodak stock, wherever manufactured, has the USA symbols. Country of manufacture is indicated by a dot between the letters of the word ‘safety’, as follows:
