
VTR standard for digital composite (coded) PAL or NTSC signals. It uses 19mm tape and records up to 208 minutes on a single cassette. Neither cassettes nor recording formats are compatable with D1.
D2 is often used as a direct replacement for 1” VTRs. Employs an 8 bit format.
