It’s time to say goodbye to 2021 and celebrate the festive season at Arc Cinema this December with some amazing and timeless films!

December at Arc Cinema
Arc Cinema Program at the NFSA – December 2021
This month we’ll be celebrating A Very NFSA Christmas once again, with 3 very different festive films. First up is Aussie classic Bush Christmas (1983), starring Nicole Kidman in her first feature film. To bring some fright to the season, we also have Christmas slasher film Black Christmas (2019). And finally, the hilarious family classic Elf (2003).
December will also bring a retrospective of 4 films by Kathryn Bigelow, the first woman to win Best Director at the Oscars (for The Hurt Locker, pictured above). Her films are visceral and action-packed, without neglecting believable human interaction, and sure to leave a lasting impression.
It’s time head back to Rydell High for our next Arc Out Loud, a quote-a-long of campy cult classic Grease 2 (1982). Plus, plus don’t forget Australian animated family classic Dot and The Kangaroo (1977), the Oscar-winning comedy Moonstruck (1987) and the uplifting documentary Chef Antonio’s Recipe for Revolution (2021).
Please help us keep everyone safe by reading and following our COVID-safety and visitor information and don’t forget to get your Club NFSA card when you arrive.
