Stop Making Sense brings to the screen Talking Heads at Hollywood's Pantages Theatre in December 1983. It features David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison alongside an ecstatic ensemble of supporting musicians.
Newly restored in 4K to coincide with its 40th anniversary, the 1984 film was directed by renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia) and is considered by critics to be the greatest concert film of all time.
The live performance was shot over the course of three nights in December 1983 and features Talking Heads’ most memorable songs.
‘Has there ever been a live concert film as vibrant or as brilliantly realised? I don’t think so’ – San Francisco Chronicle
