Inspired by a true story, this much-loved war comedy stars Robin Williams as Adrian Cronauer, an Armed Forces Radio Service DJ who arrives in Saigon to entertain troops during the Vietnam War. The irreverent Cronauer quickly develops a reputation for his on-air entertainment and off-air antics, much to the chagrin of his superiors.

Delicately blending comedy with the sobering realities of war, Williams’ performance – much of it improvised – earned him wins at the Golden Globes and the Grammy Awards, alongside an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

‘…uproariously funny without ignoring or trivialising the tragedy’ – The Globe and Mail (Toronto)
