Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan and Christina Hendricks star in this high-action crime drama, based on James Sallis’ 2005 novel of the same name.
Gosling plays a Hollywood stunt driver (‘The Driver’) who gets himself into trouble when he starts side-hustling as a getaway driver.
Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival. Drive showcases his signature use of high-colour contrast, a style he attributes to colour blindness that prevents him from seeing mid-tones.
‘Though both highly stylised and highly stylish, Drive isn't hurting for substance. It has rich, complex characters and a storyline that's both emotionally engaging and almost sickeningly suspenseful’ – Slate
