Scenes of a camping trip to Alice Springs in the 1950s. The film shows Ian Wood and his wife getting into their green jeep (with covered trailer) and leaving their home in the Victorian town of Rainbow, setting off on a journey to central Australia. Along the way are scenes of a cattle station with Indigenous stockmen at work and views of Alice Springs. They also visit an Indigenous community in the remote region of Yuendumu.
The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia acknowledges Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live and gives respect to their Elders both past and present.
