Winifred Atwell is interviewed by Mike Walsh in 1981. In this clip she discusses her start in music and her training for an alternative career as a pharmacist. She talks about how her mother taught her not to be a musical snob, and how she switched from classical to honky-tonk piano. At her peak, Winifred practised the piano for 10 hours a day!
