Two advertisements from a series that Graham Kennedy made to promote Norman Ross, a discount household goods chain that had recently taken over the Waltons department store in 1987.
The first advertisement was made for NSW audiences, the second for Queensland. Both feature Kennedy in a fat suit, the Queensland advertisement including the line 'Oh boy, just call me Russ', a reference to Russ Hinze, the controversial Queensland National Party politician of the time.
The collection of Norman Ross advertisements from which these two clips were derived was originally sourced from Graham Kennedy's own Betamax collection. According to his long-time friend, journalist Jim Murphy, Kennedy was justifiably proud of this series of ads, amongst the last he produced for television.
