We see patients in a renal ward as Dr Paul Snelling, the director of Northern Territory Renal Health, tells us that Darwin has a 10 times higher incidence than anywhere else in the country, of which Aboriginal people represent 80 per cent. Dr Snelling tells us the impact of renal disease on Indigenous peoples and their communities – those aged 30 to 40 being the main group affected.
