Zoopraxiscope “Wheel of Life”. British made apparatus for projecting animated images painted on a glass disc. This system was patented by Thomas Ross in 1869 and 1871. When the slide is projected with the discs turning, the image appears to be moving. Interchangeable discs can be fitted to its axis. On the other side of the metal plate is a handle that drives the brass wheel via a cord. The glass disc in this case represents leprechauns in movement.
