
This is an excerpt from a recording of the launch of the Apollo 11 space craft, which was broadcast on 2GB radio and later commercially released as a vinyl disc. It was written and produced by Brian White and narrated by Terry Dear.
This excerpt features part of speeches by two US Presidents. John F Kennedy in 1961, who announced that the US would fly a man to the moon and back before the close of the decade, and Richard M Nixon in 1969, who governed at the time of the Apollo 11 mission.
