In 2018, Channel Seven’s Weekend Sunrise presenters Monique Wright and Michael Usher did a live interview with ‘Noah’, an American man claiming to be a visitor from 2030.
The segment relies on viewer curiosity about Noah’s reports from the future (the US president in 2030 is, he claims, Martin Luther King’s granddaughter) and flirts with the idea that he might be genuine. We see X-rays of implants in his wrists and his performance on a lie detector. However, the X-Files soundtrack and the presenters’ pointed scepticism as they press him on his hidden identity keep the tone firmly tongue-in-cheek.
Was Noah really a terrified fugitive from the future? Or was he just pretending?
