Mental as Anything tour poster by Reg Mombassa

This poster was created to promote Mental As Anything’s Bicycle EP tour, during which limited copies of the EP were distributed to loyal fans nationwide. The single ‘Mr Natural’ from the EP was subsequently added to radio rotation. Reg Mombassa, founding member and guitarist of Mental As Anything, designed the poster. The striking use of vivid colours and the whimsical ‘human bicycle’ motif exemplify his signature artistic style. By 1995, Mombassa had staged several solo art exhibitions between his commitments with the band. He had also been designing clothing and artwork for the Mambo fashion label since 1986. Mombassa received an ARIA Award in 1996 for Best Cover Art for Mental As Anything’s album Liar Liar Pants on Fire (1995).
