Collette Roberts, better known simply as Collette, was a New Zealand-born, Australian-based model who sashayed her way into pop stardom in the late '80s and early '90s. She lit up the charts in 1989 with her glittery, high-energy cover of Anita Ward’s '70s disco smash, 'Ring My Bell'. The song became a top-five hit in Australia and New Zealand, earning a gold certification from ARIA. This signed copy of the vinyl 12" single is part of the NFSA collection.
While many remember her as a one-hit wonder, Collette wasn’t done ringing bells just yet. She danced her way into the Top 40 twice more that year with 'All I Wanna Do Is Dance' and 'That’s What I Like About You'. By 1995, she swapped the stage for the salon, retiring from music to focus on a stylish new career as a make-up artist and stylist. From disco dreams to beauty queens, Collette’s always had flair!
