The popularity of children's TV series The Saddle Club is evident in merchandising like this, but the fact that this wallet is designed for holding compact discs also places it in a moment in time. While iPods and mp3 players were gaining popularity, Discmans and CD players were still prevalent in 2004, when this wallet was produced.
The Saddle Club (2001–09) was a co-production between Australia and Canada based on Bonnie Bryant's beloved books. It follows three horse-crazy teens – Carole (Keenan MacWilliam), Stevie (Sophie Bennett) and Lisa (Lara Jean Marshall) – as they juggle friendships and daily dramas while training for riding competitions at the fictional Pine Hollow Stables. The show's mix of horses, heart and high-stakes teen adventures proved a hit with the show's fans.
