This is part of a personal collection of VHS tapes featuring popular music video clips from 1987–1991. They belonged to high school student Daniel Mudie Cunningham, who recorded the content directly onto the Video Home System format for his grandmother, Pauline Cooper (1933–2004). The music videos came from TV programs Rage and Video Hits. He carefully labelled the tapes 'Mum's Music' to ensure they were not recorded over with the football. These tapes represent a pre-DVD and pre-streaming era of home viewing entertainment. Blank videotapes were essential accessories for anyone who owned a video recorder in the 1980s, allowing you to record programs you would otherwise miss while you were out (or asleep!).
