For film fans, it's not just about the celluloid but also the memorabilia that connects them to a favourite movie, actor or genre. Diane Marchant is better known in Australian Star Trek fan circles as an artist, author and fan. Her personal collection of memorabilia included this plastic model of Bela Lugosi as the character he was most associated with, Dracula. Emigrating to the United States from Hungary, Lugosi appeared as Count Dracula in the stage adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel before starring in the 1931 film. He went on to star in several horror films up until his death in 1956. This figurine was made over three decades after the film it immortalises, suggesting that Lugosi's Dracula was a performance for the ages.
