AC/DC lead guitarist Angus Young’s schoolboy costume is one of the most iconic looks in rock music, and was completed by his felt ‘A’ schoolboy cap.
It was Angus' sister Margaret who suggested the outfit after Young had already experimented with gorilla, Zorro and Superman costumes. Twenty years his senior, Margaret was an extremely helpful big sister. She made Angus’ costumes in the early years of the band and even gave the group their name after noting the famous initials on the AC adaptor of her sewing machine.
The band has sold more than 200 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling rock bands in history.
