At the height of the puppet Agro's popularity, Agro merchandise included four recorded studio albums, an arcade game (Agro's Fantastic Video Game), snap cards, stickers, lunchboxes, children's clothing and an annual showbag at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Agro has been offered twice in ice-cream form: Agro’s Mega Munch, which featured a bubblegum nose from dairy brand Paul’s, and the Agro Cone from Wendy’s. To say Agro was beloved is an understatement.

This plastic race car toy is more evidence of Agro's popularity. It was possibly a promotional toy available with children's meals at Hungry Jacks, a marketing ploy that would have driven many Agro fans to the fast-food chain.

A cross between Jim Henson’s muppets Oscar the Grouch and Animal, but with a provocative adult sense of humour, it may come as a surprise that Agro – a puppet creature who ‘eats flies’ – hosted the long-running children’s cartoon program Agro’s Cartoon Connection (1990–1997) in a prime-time slot.
