This image shows the striped, straw boater hat that became synonymous with Aunty Jack's well-dressed but shirtless sidekick, Thin Arthur, who was played by Rory O'Donoghue. O'Donoghue formed a unique partnership with Grahame Bond, with the two co-starring on The Aunty Jack Show. O’Donoghue’s talents as a singer and songwriter were on display in numerous sketches throughout the series. He was the singer and co-composer (with Grahame Bond) of the show’s closing theme, ‘Farewell Aunty Jack’, which was released as a single in 1974 and went to No. 1 for three weeks. The single was also groundbreaking for being the first Australian picture disc released.
