In 1997 the internet was relatively new to most Australians and its potential was only starting to be discovered. Here the callers and the presenter show they are dealing with technology they are still learning about, and which has not yet attained the familiarity we have today.
Websites are discussed with their whole URLs rather than the shorthand we use now, and technical terms are confused. Radio and radio stations would soon go on to fully explore and utilise the opportunities offered by the internet but here we see the awkwardness of dealing with this new technology.
