This is an excerpt from the Sunday program broadcast on 7 July 1985. The clip features a story reported by journalist Jennifer Byrne about the response to then-Treasurer Paul Keating and Prime Minister Bob Hawke's taxation summit. Many changes were proposed but the one that captured the most attention and ire was the proposed consumption tax.
The story uses an interesting mix of comedy (including the use of Daddles the duck from Wide World of Sports) and solid political reporting to explain the public and the Parliament's response to the proposed tax.
Sunday ran from 1981 to 2008 on the Nine Network.
