    • In this scene, Carol wins a race and meets 'punk' girl Angie, as the latter practices a totally 1980s dance routine (reminiscent of Flashdance) in the gym.

      Nicole Kidman paid close attention to the advice from her coach (Kate Ferguson): 'Winning's what it's all about [...] now, you go out there and win!' She'd previously starred in the 1983 remake of Bush Christmas and BMX Bandits, and made an appearance in A Country Practice, but she wasn't yet a household name. Her roles in 1986's Windrider and Vietnam would establish her as one of Australia's favourites, before she conquered Hollywood and won every award imaginable.
