First Nations Engagement at the NFSA

The NFSA celebrates and showcases the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through recorded sound, film, and digital media.

The First Nations Engagement team leads collaborations with communities through curated and co-designed projects, ensuring stories and knowledge are visible and available for ongoing use, preservation and cultural practice.

This section of the website contains information about NFSA co-designed projects, our work with First Nations content, NFSA policies and commitments, and resources and directories for further reading.

The Nangamai Collection honours First Nations trailblazers who preserve culture through activism, writing, film, song, dance, art and storytelling.
