How to donate material to the NFSA collection

The NFSA welcomes donations that help grow and strengthen Australia’s national audiovisual collection.

Thank you for considering donating material to the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA).

To begin the process, complete the online offer form, which allows you to provide details about the items you wish to donate. Before filling out the form, we recommend searching the NFSA collection to check whether the items are already held.

What we collect

The NFSA collection holds more than one million unique works, including films, television and radio programs, games, podcasts, social media, audio tapes, records, compact discs, phonograph cylinders and wire recordings.

We also collect documents and artefacts such as photographs, posters, lobby cards, publicity items, scripts, costumes, props, memorabilia, oral histories and equipment.
