TY the Tasmanian Tiger: Unrealised pilot script

2003

  • NFSA ID1767117
  • Year2003

This is the cover page of an unreleased animated pilot script for TY the Tasmanian Tiger based on the Australian video game of the same name by Krome Studios. Titled Attack of the Megasucker, it came early in the lifecycle of the game, which has sold over a million copies internationally, spawned several sequels and a remastered HD release in 2016.

The script demonstrates the potential to adapt popular Australian games for television, and the difficulty of doing so, given that the project was never realised. For fans with nostalgic childhood memories of playing the game in the early 2000s, it's a tantalising hint at how TY might have found crossover success in a different medium.
