This 1957 recording captures a performance of 'The Other Man' by popular Greek singer Niko Gounaris (1915–1965) during his Australian tour.

From the recording, Gounaris' mournful tenor can be heard, along with the lyrics of thwarted love and betrayal he was known for singing. The track heard here is an example of light music: a shorter, laidback form of orchestral music designed for mass appeal.

The recording was released on the Apollo Label, founded in 1957 by George Yiannopoulos, who ran the Sydney store Stanley Young. Active until 1961, Apollo issued around 200 Greek popular music titles, including early recordings by Nana Mouskouri.
