    Excerpt from Fox Movietone coverage of the Melbourne Cup on 4 November 1930.

    The footage shows the closing moments of the Cup with champion horse Phar Lap winning the race by about three lengths, filmed by the Fox Movietone crew from a position about 50 metres forward of the finish line.

    Fox Movietone were one of at least three movie crews filming the Melbourne Cup that year.
