Mediatheque
Pull up a chair and press play – a relaxed lounge for watching and listening.

The Mediatheque is a comfortable, contemporary lounge made for easy, informal viewing.
With soft seating and a large screen, it’s a place to take a breather and spend time with highlights from the National Film and Sound Archive’s collection.
The program changes regularly, bringing fresh clips, playlists and surprises to the screen. Selections draw from television, film, music and audiovisual curiosities – from classic variety shows and kids’ TV to short films and unexpected finds.
By day, the Mediatheque is a calm spot to dip into the collection. Later on, it becomes a shared viewing space, with curated playlists of music video clips from the 1980s and 1990s that invite people to settle in together.
Along the way, you might drop in on episodes of The Mike Walsh Show or rediscover favourites from Simon Townsend’s Wonder World!. At other times, the screen features Life in Australia – a 1960s colour film series capturing everyday life across capital cities and regional centres.
The Mediatheque is open daily and free to enjoy.
