This film was the first venture by the McDonagh sisters: Paulette, director and principal writer; Phyllis (the youngest), business manager, publicist and art director; and Isabel, who acted under the stage name of Marie Lorraine. It is a Melodrama.

Wealthy Barry Manton leaves home after being hurt and humiliated by his father, who bribes the woman he's in love with to leave. He meets Lola `a delicate flower among sordid surroundings' and marries her. Meanwhile Barry's father repents and wants him home. Lola runs away, thinking Barry might not get his inheritance, to set him free. They meet again years later in a hospital where Lola's nursing, whilst caring for their child and eventually the family is united, Grandad and all.
