Made by the props team, this electric sign flickered on and off to trigger applause from the studio audience. It was used while recording live TV shows at Channel Seven's studios in Epping, Sydney and is an unassuming but important piece of live television history. Shows recorded before a live audience at the studio ranged from sitcoms like Kingswood Country (1980–84) to game show Wheel of Fortune (1996–2004, 2006) and, predating the era of this particular sign, Australia's first 'tonight' show, Sydney Tonight (1956–59) with Keith Walshe.
