This prop is just one of more than 5,000 (!) paper planes used in the Australian family film Paper Planes (2014). Many of them were folded by Dylan Parker, a real-life international plane-throwing champion, on whose experiences the film is loosely based. Parker also provided technical and design advice on the many paper plane props.

The film, directed by Robert Connolly, featured several well-known Australian actors, such as Sam Worthington, Deborah Mailman, David Wenham and Ed Oxenbould. It tells the story of Dylan Webber (Oxenbould) and his journey to participate in the World Paper Plane Championships in Japan.
