Before DVDs, Blu-rays and VHS tapes, you could own a piece of your favourite film on a reel of celluloid. These compact 8mm reels captured virtually anything that could be filmed. Clips featuring stars like Shirley Temple, Abbott and Costello and Elvis Presley were immensely popular, as were travel films that brought the world into your home – like this one called Down Under, focusing on Australian wildlife.
