    The snappy, hard-boiled ‘bedside manner’ of the detectives as they question Flack is tough but funny. Their no-nonsense, wry attitudes are part of what defines Division 4’s tone.

    In contrast, Kelso’s confusion elicits uneasy sympathy. In these moments, it starts to become apparent that Kelso may no longer be the menace the other characters – police included – see him as.
