In January 2020, Lorna Lesley interviewed Simon Burke for the NFSA's Oral History program. Burke is one of Australia’s most beloved stars of film, TV, and theatre.
In this excerpt, Simon shares his sliding-doors moment, at the age of 13 landing his breakthrough lead role as Tom Allen in Fred Schepsi’s The Devil’s Playground (1976).
Rhonda Schepisi, referred to in this clip, was the casting director on the film.
