Australia Day at the NFSA
A full day of Aussie movie and TV classics, straight from the Pool Room!
Spend Australia Day 2016 at the NFSA; start with a sausage sizzle and the Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown party in the courtyard, and stay for these true blue screenings – there’s even a discounted day pass so you can catch all four films for $20!
- We’re screening in Arc cinema three classic films about what it means to be Australian: They’re a Weird Mob, Crocodile Dundee and The Castle ($5 each).
- In our Theatrette from 12pm-5pm we’re showing episodes from the first series of Skippy (Free, no booking necessary).
- Then at 6.30 pm join us for the Canberra premiere of the NFSA’s digital restoration of Starstruck (1982) ($14/$12). The screening is part of NFSA Restores and will include a special Q&A with director Gillian Armstrong. Don’t miss our Australia Day only mini-exhibition, featuring original costumes and other items from the film.
