Each year, a panel of industry experts choose ten sounds from all the public nominations to be added to the Sounds of Australia.
Not sure what to nominate? Take a look at the more than 100 sounds added since the Registry’s inception in 2007.
They can be popular songs, advertising jingles, famous speeches, radio broadcasts, or any other sound recordings – as long as they’re Australian and more than 10 years old.
Help us select the next sounds!
Public nominations are accepted throughout the year. Nominations received after the closing date will be considered in the following year’s selection process.

The panel may also recommend nominations to be held over for consideration the following year.
To be eligible for inclusion, sounds must meet the following selection criteria:
You may submit up to three nominations per year.
