In 1979, producer Wayne (Martin Henderson) takes his aspiring adult actress girlfriend Maxine (Mia Goth) and a group of young filmmakers to make an adult film in rural Texas. 

But when their reclusive, elderly hosts Pearl (Mia Goth) and Howard (Stephen Ure) catch them in the act, the aspiring filmmakers soon find themselves fighting for their lives. 

X pays homage to classic horror films of the 1970s like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre while still feeling unique. It’s a gory, terrifying and unsettlingly funny film about ageing and the unquenchable desire for youth, energy and fame.
