Hillary (Barbara Hershey) and CC (Bette Midler) meet as children (Marcie Leeds, Mayim Bialik) vacationing in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and remain friends throughout the decades. As CC, a loud New Yorker, pursues a singing career, Hillary, a staid Californian, becomes a successful lawyer.

Over the years, they often quarrel or compete but, as other relationships flourish and die, the 2 women are always there for each other, traveling from coast to coast through the most tumultuous times.

Beaches is the ultimate classic 80s film of female friendship  through ups and downs, CC and Hillary have a relationship that transcends distance and stays strong while others come and go. ‘That’s the story of, and that’s the glory of love’! Bring your bestie and your tissues for this one.

Beaches speaks to women. It makes girlfriends think of calling girlfriends they haven't seen in 10, 20, 30 years’ – The Washington Post
