Saturday Screenings: Unfolding Florence
Saturday Screenings is a free program of film screenings on the first weekend of each month, presented in partnership between the NFSA and the National Gallery of Australia.
Unfolding Florence: The Many Lives of Florence Broadhurst is a documentary about the colourful life – and mysterious death – of flamboyant design pioneer Florence Broadhurst.
Screening from a 35mm film print from the NFSA collection.
The feature will be preceded by Clytie Jessop's short film Flamingo Park (1980, M, 22mins), which shows how the environment influences the work of two of Australia's foremost fashion designers, Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson.
Broadhurst, Kee and Jackson are all featured in the National Gallery’s Know My Name initiative that celebrates women artists.
