Japanese Film Festival Classics

The cult Japanese director who loved excess, Seijun Suzuki (1923–2017) left behind an impressive film legacy. His subversive genre films and visionary pop aesthetics inspired the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Jim Jarmusch. This small collection of Suzuki’s rarer works is presented in 35mm (Japanese language with English subtitles) from The Japan Foundation Film Library. Presented by The Japan Foundation, Sydney as a satellite event of the 2017 Japanese Film Festival.
