Raised by wolves in the jungle, human child Mowgli (Neel Sethi) lives a simple and happy life while learning from the black panther Bagheera (voiced by Ben Kingsley). But after tiger Shere Khan (voiced by Idris Elba) threatens to kill Mowgli, the ‘man-cub’ decides to set out to find human civilisation.

With Shere Khan close on his trail, Mowgli faces dangers like the hypnotic python Kaa (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) and the greedy ape King Louie (voiced by Christopher Walken), all while learning about the ‘bare necessities’ from new friend Baloo (voice by Bill Murray).

‘A terrifically enjoyable piece of old-fashioned storytelling and a beautiful-looking film: spectacular, exciting, funny and fun’ – The Guardian
